The reflecting mirror stereoscope was invented in 1833 by a man called Charles Wheatstone that basically when looked through stereoscopically at two images, with both eyes, gave the perception of the image being in 3-D.
From the 1920′s and 1930′s the stereoscope was incorporated into 3D cameras for taking photographs. John Logie Baird used the stereoscope with the invention of the television in 1928.
The 1950′s saw 3D movies being produced in the US and these were viewed in cinemas all across America.
It was in 2009 that 3D as we know it today moved into tv stations and onto tv. This has made way for 3-D TV’s being introduced. Not only can programmes and films be watched on a 3D tv but also video games that you can play in 3D are now available.
